A clarification: Not just for the poor …
While Scott Free Clinic is unapologetically an advocate for the poor, some have a mistaken idea that as a Free Clinic we exist only for the poor. That’s not the case.
First, we’re a “free clinic” because a leading (if not THE leading) reason why people who NEED clinical level services don’t get the help they need is because they can’t afford it. But given the cost of high quality, skilled clinical services, it isn’t just the poor who can’t afford these kinds of services. So, our objective is to eliminate barriers to services (availability, location, cost, etc.), especially the barrier of cost. Is there someone who shouldn’t be able to access high quality clinical services? No! So an important focus for us is making services accessible to all.
We’re a “Clinic” for standard of quality – Have you ever heard of Mayo Clinic? Cooper Clinic? Those and others automatically project the image of the highest quality services available in medicine and fitness. It is our commitment to bring the highest quality Christian clinical counseling and related services to people who need to change their lives. Those people may be poor, middle class, or rich, it doesn’t matter. What does matter is making accessible quality ministry services that have a proven track record of results in effectively helping people change their lives. Our clients over the last three decades have ranged from those living in harsh poverty to highly talented business executives, all of whom needed effective, high quality services.
So, when you hear “Scott Free Clinic,” it is our hope that what immediately comes to mind are thoughts like “Christian,” “quality,” and “accessibility.”
By the way, more than ever before, we need your help to be able to provide crucial services to those in need. To make these services available, would you please consider being a Care Partner with us today? You can begin right now by going to our website here and making a donation of any amount. Let’s work together to tear down barriers to access and help people — anyone, anywhere — get the help they need to change their lives!
Thank you!
