Jesus the Disruptor …
Those who think of Jesus Christ as being a meek, mild-mannered wallflower of a Messiah are startled to discover He is anything but that.
Jesus is a disruptor.
Jesus disrupts our lives with abundant grace to lovingly command of us, “Go, and sin no more.”
Jesus disrupts our lives with an invitation to “Follow Me” and become fishers of men.
Jesus disrupts our lives to destroy sin, and death, and all the violent, harmful work of Satan.
Jesus disrupts our lives to interrupt our selfishness and turn us toward submission, and holiness, and wholeness.
Jesus disrupts our traditions and rituals, loudly snapping a whip He made Himself, overturning tables, and with great righteous indignation, disrupting our self-righteousness and idoltry.
Jesus disrupts our comfort and our desires and demands self-denial while offering a cross.
Jesus disrupts our families and friendships, demanding He get pre-eminence in all relationships.
In other words, Jesus disrupts our lives to save them.
“There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death,” Proverbs 14:12.
Unless Jesus disrupt our lives, we would pursue sin to its full conclusion. By disrupting our lives, Jesus offers us new life, and everlasting life!
But we must yield to His disruption and obey His instruction.
Are you welcoming the disruption of Jesus into your life, or pushing against it?

Congressman John Lewis urged young people to “get in the way” and
to “get in good trouble, necessary trouble.” Change is uncomfortable and only accomplished by disruption!
